Trim Comp to Source

Hey all, I use the plug-in Neat Video quite often in Ae, and right now my method of bringing in trimmed clips from Premiere is to simply ctrl+C in the Pr timeline and ctrl+v into a fresh Ae comp. When

Here's a method that will probably give you better results, and it will ensure the comp has the same frame rate and dimensions as the clip: Instead of Ctrl-V copying from Premiere, drag the video file

How can I make animated overlay effects?

EDIT: Never mind. I found out that the process is called "Motion Graphics". I'm actually sort of disappointed in this site, since nobody even bothered to reply to the post in over 27 hours.. It's fine

I think you don't fully understand the term "Motion Graphics". Motion Graphics is an entire field, not a technique. It's half of what AE is used for. To put it simply, compositing programs like After

Definitely agree with your last point there. Still don't think multi-layer instances is an option for my particular cases, considering I often swing around the systems, particles need to be able to ov

How to make an AE tutorial?

I've thought about doing a tutorial on some of the techniques I've developed over the years. Years ago I tried to do a basic one, but it didn't go so smoothly and I a lot of time waiting for previews

I write out my script first, then for the longest time I would read it out while simultaneously doing the screen recording. However, for the latest tutorial ( Converting a 2D effect into 3D ), I recor
Still format that doesn't require render (no red/yellow line)

For most projects, I'm only using images for a few seconds here or there, and render is almost instantaneous, so the format isn't really an issue. However, I've been hired to create a batch of web vid

Hi Eric, You should definitely use an external USB3 ESATA drive at the minimum for playback. That may be your issue. A full drive would make things worse. If that doesn't solve it, check your hardware

I'm really not familiar with PSF (just reading up on it). I don't know why I would be. From what I'm reading, PSF is specific to 30p and 25p, as a way of producing not 24p. The footage was shot on a S

I'm no expert, but I suspect that the type of processing used to make the calculations are being done by the CPU and not the GPU, so I doubt upgrading the graphics card would have any effect. Possibly
