Before this project, I worked with this client (director producer) on 2 other projects. Things were smooth for the first two projects. Yes the camera work was a little wonky but the length of the vide

Your audio transitions is what you're referring to i assume If so...sending stems is probably the easiest way to maintain transitions, fades, and volume adjustments. TimK, Director, Consultant Kolb Pr
Deleting Prores (hq media), to make space, but then retranscoding
by Edward Harby 5 years ago
Hey guys, Will I run into any issues if I delete the high quality media files (within package contents), then later on re-transcode it (within FCPX). I'm running out of space while we are currently sh

Exactly. I've noticed FCPX is pretty unforgiving, hence the questions for such a simple task. Thanks for the response. Will be deleting prores files with confidence now.

A lot of people have mentioned using Xto7 to create a xml from FCPX but where do I go from there It looks like Protools doesn't want an xml file. What's the best solution with the least margin of erro

7toX, same markers distributed throughout all sequences
by Edward Harby 5 years ago
Hey guys. I posted earlier in regard to 7toX. I imported my documentary (unlinking audio and videos files in the time first). Looks like things went pretty well. The only problem has been markers now.

Using "Recompress" media referenced by duplicated clips to upres from Proxy to 422
by Edward Harby 5 years ago
Hey guys, I was wondering if it was possible to use the Recompress option within the media manager as a different way making my prores proxy files into proress 422 as opposed to the log and transfer t

Yeah. Ok. I don't think there's anyway around it. Log and transfer on Maverick is a nightmare. Clips get transcoded, but only portion (without showing there's an error)... crashes. Yeah It's not suppo

There's an app called retooled.net but it doesn't work for Maverick. Basically it can relink using the file's duration, which is really all I got since it's 5d footage (time code different from the so

Hey guys, (I re-edited this post to make more sense) I was doing a project in final cut 7 using the Shane Ross offline online workflow. The original footage was shot on the 5d MKII and I basically use

FCP 7, marker information (name and comment) doesn't save

Hi guys, I'm using FCP 7 and I'm having some issues with the markers. I'm applying them to the segment clip within a sequence (not on the timeline). Most of the time I can type in the information I ne

Hi guys. I made an animation sequence that I'm satisfied with running at 8fps (the composition is set to 8 fps). When I render it as 23.976, 24, or 30 etc. the footage gets speeded to that frame-rate

If you are nesting your 8 fps comp inside a 23.976 fps comp and want to retain the 8 fps look, do the following: Open the 8 fps comp. Open its composition settings (Cmd-K on a Mac, Ctrl-K on a PC). Cl
