by Brett Nelson 13 years ago
I've been shooting with the XH A1 in 24f mode, which looks great! I'm very happy with the camera. I was a longtime XL1 user, and debated about going to a smaller, more palm-based form factor, but ther

Hi there. Thank you in advance for you input. After hours upon hours of searching the internet for answers I've now decided to post my questions for your input. We would like to shoot all of our foota

Robert, That is a very vague question, it would completely depend on your overall workflow. What time of image sequence are you wanting to end up with 23.98 PsF or 29.97 with a pulldown added I just p
Decklink and HDCP (HD copy protection)

Quick question about HD copy protection and how it relates to specific Blackmagic hardware. I am the post supervisor of a company that works with many of the larger studios in Los Angeles. More and mo

Thanks for the response Baz. I have been working with the component inputs as my source for HD from Blu-Ray and I don't think analog is dirty word. It just would be nice to keep it digital if possible
Michael Jackson music

So, at random times, with no applications running, my brand new Mac Pro plays half of a Michael Jackson song. Is it a virus anyone know anything about this, or have an idea what it could be It's a wor

That's pretty funny, though, the same thing has happened to me from time to time. I will be in the middle of something and all of a sudden a song will start playing. I don't know what it is, but it's

Yeah, of all the projects we've posted in DVCPRO HD this is the first time I've ever seen anything like this. I'm kind of at a loss for what to do with it, but continuing to try different things. Than

I am about to undertake a project in which we will be shooting on the Panasonic HDX-900 camera at 1080p 23.98. I plan on using either the AG 1200 or the AG 1400 Panasonic DVCPRO HD Deck. I will be edi

Hey Evan, Everything worked great the second time around. Apparently the UB mode was set to "user" instead of FRM RATE. Changing this to the proper setting fixed the problem. Thanks again for all the

Thanks for the info. So Just to be clear, I set the camera to 1080 24p and in FCP I use the DVCPRO HD 1080 24p setting and check the, remove pulldown. Or should the camera be on the 1080 24pA setting
HDV monitoring and output to DVCAM..need some insight
by Donovan Kosters 12 years ago
I'll start by saying that this is in no way the workflow that I would choose, but because of our clients' demands, many of which are film studios in LA, I am stuck with it so I don't necesserilay need

REPLY - this will be my typical smart ass answers, but I know that you are in a bind, and are being told "this is the way you will work, end of story". In real life, I can give a client a hard time ab
HD Vectorscope
by Donovan Kosters 13 years ago
I'm looking for an HD Vectorscope and waveform monitor etc. It seems that the most bang for the buck is the rasterizer type so that's what I have been focusing on. I'm trying to spend less than $9,000

Hey Stuart and Bob, Thanks a ton for the information. I think the model I will go with is the Leader LV7700. I can live without the component inputs since most of what we do is on DigiBeta, D5, or HDC
