I am shopping for a workstation and any help would be most appreciated. First I will explain what I will be doing with the workstation. I will be running CS 5.5 After Effects, Premier, and Photoshop.

Hi, Happy Thanksgiving! If you are not comfortable with upgrading computers or don't know anyone who can do it for you - you might want to stop right reading right now...but if you are on a tight budg

Sorry, my fault - I still use an older version of PPro that has the export function - so with the encoder - I would still keep it simple and transcode in something else, which of course not everyone c

To the lay person, 13GB hr sounds huge, but that is actually very small compared to other compressed formats or even uncompressed standard def video as Ian alludes to. The AVCHD codec that the NX 70 u
NXCAM recording in SD 16:9 comes out looking interlaced?
by Elise Potaka 9 years ago
Hi, I'm a newbie to the forum. I just got a Sony NX5, and recording in HD is fine. But when I record in SD 720 x 576, and log and transfer into FCP 7.0.3, the footage looks like it needs to be deinter

Hi Elise, I am assuming you are shooting PAL given the SD resolution you listed. If you are in the US and should be shooting NTSC, that would be the first issue. I am not familiar with the camcorder -
Recommended Hard Drives and Setup
by AlDugan 15 years ago
I am currently in the process of upgrading my PC with more RAM and hard drives. I figured I would upgrade my RAM to 1.5GB from 512MB (or maybe 2.5GB if I can swing it) and add at least 2 more drives s

How is this High Def??

Sorry, I know this is probably the wrong place to ask this question, but I didn't know what other forum to ask it in, and since I always come here anyway and am interested in working in High Def in AE
Re: How is this High Def??

Oh yeah, all the 1280x768 or 1330x768 or whatever are not HD, they are resampling them I believe. I would gamble on the 1080p being the winner in this, but you never know.

Re: External Monitor

You should use an NTSC monitor because the color space is different than the RGB computer monitor. You might ask the question in the Premiere Elements forum too in case it's something different than P
Sequence resolution issue
by JustAnotherGuy 15 years ago
I'm trying to put together a sequence of pictures. All the pictures are 1024 X 768. If I create a sequence with the standard 720 X 480 resolution, it chops off a bit from the frame evenly - which is b

Oh yeah, there is that. But working with large pictures (like 5-7 megapixels) can also slow down the system. The choice is yours. don
