There's lots of ways to bring up your shadows. In Camera Raw you can just grab the shadows and blacks sliders and drag them right to lighten those areas without touching the highs and mids. Obviously

It's not something I've tried myself but I'm not surprised the text is losing it's formating. I wouldn't really expect the two formats to be compatible. Maybe get them to send you a pdf.

There's nothing there that you couldn't do in photoshop but it's pretty safe to say that logo wasn't created in photoshop. It would be a bit laborious. If it was me and I was trying to replicate it in

Your specs as far as you've outlined them sound fine. Obviously more is always better but what you have sounds like enough for a smooth edit unless you are creating unusually big projects. I doubt RAM
