I have an hour-long MXF file shot on a Panasonic HVX200 P2 card. At first everything seemed great with the file, I checked all the way through and it was fine. Now I am editing, and about halfway through the video freezes and the sound goes dead while the video keeps "playing". The audio waveforms are still there but no response. Has anyone heard of this happening and is there a way to repair the file?

I have been using the pcmcia port of an old powermac computer to download P2 files and it seems to work great. Is there a problem with this method? Is it lossy? A related question is, do the adapters for the newer express card ports on the Macbook Pro 17" laptops work in the same way? One like this? http://www.amazon.com/Lexar-Professional-Express-Compact-LRWEXPPRBNA/dp/B00...
