Interestingly, a gentleman over at dvxuser.com says that no driver is needed to mount the cam in the Firewire mode on Intel Macs. He claims it works without a driver for Intel Macs.

You can edit straight from the mxf files using Raylight for the Mac. Google it.

If you do not have the DVCProHD codecs installed on that G4, I don't believe HD Monitor is going to work with that codec.
No "Panasonic P2" option in Import menu.

Use the encode settings consistent with the total length of your video in minutes. Use the Dolby2 ac3 audio setting and then import the resulting ac3 and m2v files into DVD SP. Do not use the aiff aud
