Digitizing problems.
by andrew paul 6 years ago
I have two machines out of 12 that are having digitizing problems. I am still digitizing in FCP7 23.98psf. When I patch a deck to either computer the incoming signal line is blue. Once I open the Log

I don't have an answer to your specific problem but I would suggest, if possible, to try and isolate the problem(s) to specific card(s). If you have access to known, working 3G and LHi cards, try swap
Latest AJA drivers and CS6 plugins
by Danny Biando 6 years ago
HI All, It appears that the latest several releases of the AJA Adobe plugins do not install to CS6, but only to the CC paths. Is this correct, and if so, is there a work around I use both an LHi and a
Re: Latest AJA drivers and CS6 plugins
by David Kuhnen 6 years ago
Yeah, based on my experience in testing, I don't think it's a matter of PrP "seeing" the plug-in drivers, it's an incompatibility of the new plug-ins with CS6. The best you could hope for would be to
Closed Capt. export both 608 & 708 ??

I received Apple ProRes files with both 608 and 708 embedded closed captioning. I simply need to adjust audio levels and add a slate to the front. I can see, select to view and edit either the 608 or

I have an early 2008 Intel Mac Pro running FCP 7 and a Kona Lhe card. I don't do complex editing or workflows, as my business is basically digitizing broadcast format analog tapes to files. I, in retr

I should add that historically, I rarely captured to any formats other than DV codec or Apple ProRes, so you should include the capture codec onto your list of possible causes. I also work with a dece
audio bit depth....any defacto standards out there?
by Guy Spiller 6 years ago
I'm digitizing a large quantity of SD 1" tapes and the client wants 10 bit uncompressed video files for archival purposes. I asked about audio, but they are not technically inclined. The few SD uncomp
Re: audio bit depth....any defacto standards out there?
by David Kuhnen 6 years ago
I'll jump on this discussion as well... Hey, if they can actually handle 10 bit uncompressed video, then 24 bit audio will be a "walk in the park" 16 bit is the most common (in the video world) but vi

In the U.S., blu-ray is the only consumer level, self-contained player, for HD video. Depending on your situation, you may want to consider playing a HD QuickTime from a computer. David Kuhnen BVK-Mil
Best (non-standard) video frame size dimensions for video mapping onto a 5'x25' (1:5) and 15'x25' (3:5) screen?

Hi Creative Cow! I am working on producing content for a video mapping project. I am using Premier to create video with two different non-standard aspect ratios. I am looking for the best frame size o

Interesting aspect ratios. I would certainly start by finding out the exact pixel dimensions of the display device(s) and create files based on 1:1, pixel for pixel dimensions. I produced several vide
track matte won't render in Premier Pro CS6
by Anne Mortensen 7 years ago
Hi! I put a simple track matte on a track in order to blur out the background while keeping the main subject in focus. Lo and behold, PPro wouldn't render that portion of the clip no matter what. So,

Yes, I too have experienced this although my situation was much more complex. I wanted to reveal a Photoshop layer of text using a soft wipe, over a video background. The Mac side of Pr does not have

As a FCP editor, yes your Preferences should typically be set to import Stereo Media as Mono so you can control Ch.1 & Ch.2 separately. After you bring in a file you want to use as a Stereo track, rig

Typical setting is to leave on Automatic. That being said, a professional video camera will record files in a YUV color space (as opposed to images created in a RGB color space) and will not need gamm

Re: Whoa. In/Out Duration 6 Frames Off?

John-Michael explains the +29 = 1:06 duration very well. You should also be aware that "drop-frame" timecode only exists for the 29.97 frame rate. 23.976 and 59.94 do not use drop-frame timecode. Davi

I think the answer to this problem is indicated in the original post and eluded to in some of the responses. The original post states his source timebase is 23.98 and "assumed" sequence timebase is 23

Re: FCP 6 Open Timeline Setting?
