DO NOT buy it. The zoom is the least of your worries. I had three of them, testing and sending back hoping to get lucky. The killer problem is lack of sharp focus on the edges and the WORST chromatic

If you are not having issues with your disc I would just go on with life. I use 8x DVDs only, DVDSP has no speed burn speed controls so this limits it to 8x which I find to be the prefect setting for
