I have some old photos that I dropped into the Avid Media Composer timeline. I put the boris red 3.0 AFX 1.5 effect on the photo so I can zoom in close. I then hit apply and render through the Avid. H

It's because you're trying to zoom in on the image in the Avid timeline, which is not hi-res (even at 1:1, it only has 720 X 480 pixels). In the Boris interface, you need to choose the original still

Thank you for the quick response! Unfortunately, my company is very stingy and it takes forever to get money for software, so Stagetools is probably out. The stills I am animating are only 5-8 seconds

Yes it works with Media Composer and Xpress Pro. I am building one as we speak with the E6600 and the Asus P5W DH Deluxe. Check the Avid forum, you will see that it is working good.

It's common to see a little of the raster when exporting video from NLEs. Depending on your encoding software, you'll have to crop the sides. I do a weekly webcast video and use Sorenson to encode a 3
