actually not a bad idea, as you are able to clone, as opposed to dub, the copy via firewire from camera to deck. the single wire will carry video, audio and time code.

The tape drive of the HVX-200 supports mini-DV only (Standard Def) In order to get ANY HD out of the camera you need either a P2 card or a Firestore FS-100.

If the red light already exists on your footage of a computer then you can pull a matte for it. There are many ways to approach pulling a matte, but the first I would suggest is using a Channels Shift

Thought: Camera to DVD Recored set for 16:9 then out to the VCR, with the DVD set to a 4:3 TV. Personally I would just record to DVD and send a cheap DVD to my client.
