XDCAM 422 with MOV wrapper is mac-only. Ask them if an MXF file is acceptable instead. It probably is. Just be aware that Avid will split out the XDCAM422 MXF with 8 discrete audio channels, exactly l

Baselight is awesome. We use it for some very high-end commercial work inside Media Composer. 99% of the time we can rival anything created in a standalone Davinci environment.

Is there a way to Lift a clip without having to mark in and out points If I select a clip and use the Forward Delete button (on a Mac), the clip is Extracted (so all subsequent clips ripple backwards)

Everything ripples back because you have the yellow arrow (extract splice) activated on the smart tool. If you only activate the red arrow (lift overwrite) and do the same thing, the clip will remove

It is better, but still not as solid as 10.8. Much improved though. I've reverted back to OSX 10.8 in the meantime though, because AJA still hasn't released openIO drivers for Avid, and that's crucial

OSX displays ONLY support 8 bit output. That is universal, hard and fast. If you use a 10 bit video I O product, the 10 bits are properly displayed on whatever output device it routs to. However, when
