I think just choose it in the tool pallette. Click and hold for the different options. However, I usually use t, then hold shift. Same result.

When importing DVCPro HD 720 footage into AE CS4 the footage is pixelated, very blocky but 1080 footage is good. Both look good in FCS3. Any ideas what's going on

I have noticed the difference and do not like the crossfades. It seems like they are additive or non additive mixes. It's been a while since I used those mixes so I don' recall the results.

The AJA paper didn't really instill any relief on my end. Video monitoring to a broadcast monitor is preview quality only (basically extended desktop) and in order to lay off to tape I have to export

Borjis, Eric is correct, you can't add audio to transitions with DVDSP. The only audio that is 'allowed', is the audio that is part of a stock DVDSP template. You can make your own video transitions,
