MBP gets slower and slower
by Craig Johnson 4 years ago
I can't find a definitive answer in my searches. My Mac Book pro starts out in any of my projects just flying. No lag at all. Everyday that I turn the machine back on, it gets stupid slow. Now nowhere

I've created text in this program countless times, but this is new. I just clicked on the text drop down box in viewer to create a 1 word title. sounds easy right NO! I can't move it. When I drag it ,

I'm visiting a friend while I go to my mom's funeral. I thought I would put together something for her memorial service. I found out the problem. While getting a cup of coffee, I returned to find her
Replaced assets never changes disk size!
by Craig Johnson 5 years ago
What am I missing here This problem really won't go away. Very simply put: I replaced MPEG-2 assets in Encore CS6. The new assets were encoded at a higher bitrate which made the file larger. The repai

Buttons
by Craig Johnson 5 years ago
Not sure if this could be done but making a menu about a farm. They have the same truck since the fifties. I thought it would be fun to shrink down the truck for a button and have the headlights come
Re: Buttons
by Craig Johnson 5 years ago
So you said if I figured it out, I should let you know. I did for the most part. I made a PSD image of the truck and shrunk it down button sized. I then used the "shapes" palette in PS and dragged cir
Saturation issue
by Craig Johnson 5 years ago
I can't seem to find my exact answers when I search for them. This project was created in FCP7 in Prores 422. It was compressed using compressor as mpeg-2 assets. Those assets were imported into Encor
Re: Saturation issue

craig, do you used copressor to transcode your movie to mpeg2-files if so, they should be dvd-spec-complient and will ve shown as "not transcode" within the project-window. dvd-complient files will ge
Grumpy Assets

Still trying to get this menu to work but I'm super close. Created mpeg-2 assets in FCP Compressor, import assets to Encore CS6, created my menu, built it to ISO, burned with Toast 10. Looked and play
Re: Grumpy Assets

I'm replying to my own thread. I don't know how it's fixed but it did create the ISO image. I deleted the project cache, renamed the project and re-imported everything. Basically started over except I
Menu justify problem

I have a 16x9 project and have a 7 second converted 8mm clip for a menu video background which is the old 4.3 ratio. Is there any way to shift the 8mm clip over to one side so my buttons and their tex

Not in Encore. Edit the 4:3 video in Premiere. Export it as 16:9. Import to Encore (with a new name). Stan Jones
Will a genius step up to the plate?
by Craig Johnson 5 years ago
I'll be as detailed as possible. 1 movie. Part 1 and Part 2. Both about 80 minutes. A major mixed bag of different formats transcoded to ProRes 422 in FCP7. I typically send the sequence from FCP righ

No I haven't. Not sure I remember how at this point. I am trying an idea I found out about. Searching for answers led me to someone who uses elementary stream info to create assets. My machine is enco
Blu ray menu with DVD A

I've been in the FCP7 camp for a few years now and menu options as most of you know, well....suck. It's been suggested to me that DVD Architect may be a solution. I have a fairly complicated project b

Quick question: anyone know of a comprehensive tutorial for DVD A v5 that does NOT involve bringing a Vegas project into it. Since the interface is foreign to me, not clear on many issues like jumbled
Dumb frame rate question
by Craig Johnson 5 years ago
Hi. My project is done using FCP7 in a ProRes 422 timeline using a 29.97 frame rate. A friend has the new Encore and was going to help me make a menu and burn with it. The boiler plate frame rates in

Cooool! I hadn't heard that one before. That's one of those cool fun facts like "your ears never stop growing" or "your eyes stay the same size from birth". Thanks!
Bitrates again

So many opinions, hard to know what is the truth. I have been using Toast for 4 years. I use the HD preset in Compressor from the FCP suite 3. It encodes an M2v file and top on max bitrate is 32, avg

Compressor blu ray menu

I have FCP suite 3. I created a blu ray disk and made a motion menu with compressor. I have looked high and low for information about this super weak menu creator and there isn't much out there. Do an
Re: Compressor blu ray menu

I've been using Toast since 2010. It works fine, menu's still suck. I was hoping there was some hidden panel in Compressor with at least a few selections or deselections as to what showed on the menu
multiAVCHD
by Craig Johnson 5 years ago
Trying everything out there to make a decent bluray menu. No luck of course. Anyone try multiAVCHD. The interface looks tough and no good tutorials that I see. Sounds like it could make what you want.
Re: multiAVCHD

I use FCP7 currently and wanted to jump ship to the Adobe suite. Tired of all the Apple workarounds for BluRay. My Daughter is a full time college student and needed the Adobe suite so I said she coul
