In all fairness, an EDL or FCP XML are not Premiere Pro project files...they simply don't support enough features. I think this was mentioned in some generic way in regard to Adobe applications...but

I do most of my writing on an HP laptop (although I edit on a mac), so I'm not sure if this helps. I do not have a fan issue. I do have Story loaded on my mac for eventual integration with other Adobe

You might want to check out Adobe Speedgrade, it comes with the CS6 Production Suite and would save you having to go into FCP7 at all. Here's a quick video about roundtripping from Premiere.

Yeah the onus is on developers at this point. So if you really want to see it happen for a particular app, let the developers of it know. That said, the XML spec they've put out for X is fairly stream
