i 2nd ffmpeg. you're trying to re-compress h.264 twice. you'll get a lot of artifacts if not using a crazy high bitrate. if you re-import that rendered file back into AE, it will probably look exactly

there's many ways to convert icc to lut. but you need to figure out what the transformation is. software needs a input icc and output icc to determine what colors to shift. you can do all this in AE,

dynamics processing might help for lower volume part. for same volume, inverting one track and combining stereo to mono would phase cancel the other mic. if that didn't work, you'll need to key frame

if you have poor lighting, the 2nd best option would be blue markers that you can still key out. easiest shape is 'x' and just randomize its rotation. i don't think weta had any pink hair characters.

on some layers, no colors ends up being 0. so put below line mb=Math.log(b); the lines, mr=mr+0.001; mg=mg+0.001; mb+mb=0.001; that should fix it.
