ProRes 4444 vs GoPro Cineform for color
by Lukas Dreser 5 years ago
Hello fellow professionals, Now that Adobe added Cineform option to our export possibilities, I can see how hugely beneficial this can be to PC users, however, I was wondering when working on MAC, hav
Re: ProRes 4444 vs GoPro Cineform for color

I like Cineform a lot as a codec. But didn't use it because it rendered so slow out of old Premiere & old DaVinci. Now that Cineform has good fast support in Premiere, maybe I will test it again in th

Adobe dynamic link is not supported in XML. The latest Premiere project manager supports transcode render of all dynamic link material to Quicktime if you don't want to manually render-out cut-in each
XMP Sidecar files
by Chris Ramey 5 years ago
The short question is: can I force Premiere to only write XMP to a sidecar file & not write it into the media file itself I use clip markers like crazy, they become an integral part of my edit process
Re: XMP Sidecar files

I didn't end up running all those test to nail down how Adobe interacts with the XMP IDs but we did move forward with... Rule 1 import every piece of media into an adobe app before it is duplicated or

There's a few apps that would let you use your second laptop as a second monitor. Air Display is one of them. It's similar to screen sharing, you might get a performance decrease since computer #1 wil
CalDigit HDElement enclosure with LSI controller

I'm building a RAID from some "spare" parts. I have an LSI MegaRAID SAS 9280-8e and two CalDigit HDElement SAS enclosures. My question is, does the CalDigit enclosures require a CalDigit PCI controlle

Thanks for the clarification. Ignoring the Ivy bridge mobo, I'm guessing the only benefit left to the Rampage IV Extreme is that it can take a Decklink Extreme 3d instead of relying on a Blackmagic US

Realtime Color Correction with HD extreme?

I am thinking of buying the HD extreme card for my new Quad PC. I read that the Mac version has realtime effects and Color correction but the PC version seems to be a little vague in it's description.
Re: Realtime Color Correction with HD extreme?

I would assume the realtime effects they boast about the card is for Final Cut Pro only. That means realtime playback without rendering which is different than the definition of real time playback in
