"Electronic control" of EF lens
by Bob Cole 6 years ago
The Cinema Camera with EF mounts offers "electronic control" of the lens. Did anyone see exactly how this works Especially in regards to continuously incrementing the iris. The devil's in the details.

As far as I am aware all EF lenses with electronic iris control have pre-set steps at which their iris can be set to. I don't believe there's any way to get smooth iris control with these lenses. So o

Hi, We tested this hardware combination with Resolve at a Sony event a few weeks ago and it worked nicely. Premier should work too. However right now I don't think FCPX will output 4K. Have you made s

Hi Guys, our blackmagic cinema camera just arrived and I managed to test the ultrascope software on a 13 inch macbook pro. The problem is that I cannot display all 6 displays for monitoring because of

Hi, I tried UltraScope on my MacBook Pro Retina 13". Whilst UltraScope will run, the performance is not great. However I see someone has mentioned recently on another forum that a program like Quickre
HyperDeck Studio and SSDs

Hi all, first happy holidays, and thanks in advanced. I'm working at a facility right now where they just acquired a BM hyperdeck studio, and they've recorded some stuff for me to access, but I plug t

Hi Pedro, This sounds very strange indeed. It sounds like the disk hasn't been formatted yet. Either HFS+ or exFAT should work fine on Mac, both should mount straight away. So if it's asking to initia
Why can't I get playback or pass-through with the Shuttle 2?
by Adam Claude Jones 7 years ago
I have no idea why, but I can't for the love of God get playback or pass-through to a HDMI monitor from my Hyperdeck Shuttle 2. This is already the second Hyperdeck I try, but nothing! I know you're s

Hi Adam, Which video format are you recording The 'out of range' message on the one monitor would suggest that the video format you are recording is not supported on that monitor. It's also quite like

Hi Javier, We have seen problems between the HDLink Pro and the Apple Cinema Displays that use Mini DisplayPort. The older 23 and 30 inch DVI Cinema Displays worked really well, but it seems there's s
Quick question about an old product

My main edit suite took a massive power surge and every single component inside is fried. I'm trying to cobble together a temporary system to limp me through until replacement hardware arrives and I h

Hi Matt, This is indeed a limitation of the PCI DeckLink cards. Because they were designed before addressing more than 4GB was common, they will not work when more than a total of 4GB RAM is available
Teranex 2D... HD-SDI output issue...
by Jonathon Lee 7 years ago
I'm having an issue with getting signal out of a Teranex 2D. I'm feeding an SD 29.97 signal into the unit and outputting 1080p @ 23.976. I get signal on the built in LCD and via the HDMI output. Howev

Hi Jonathan, I suspect the issue here is more likely to be on the capture card side of things. If you're able to get SD out from the Teranex, I can't imagine there would be a problem with HD. The SDI
Does Hyperdeck Shuttle 2 support DNxHD36/120?

Hi everyone. We're considering buying a set of Hyperdeck Shuttle 2 mainly for playback-use in our University. It would be in use for reviewing projects from our students: # when we get the dailies fro

Hi Christoph, The HyperDeck series support only the DNxHD 220x codec in either Quicktime or mxf wrappers. I am not aware of any plans to support other DNxHD codecs at this time. Chris Pearse Blackmagi
UpDownCross

Will the UpDownCross mini converter take a 720 60p (not 59.94) and output a 1080i 59.94 or 720 59.94 signal Thanks, Scott
Re: UpDownCross
by Chris Pearse 7 years ago
Hi Scott, It's not possible to perform this kind of conversion with the UpDownCross. If you input 720p60, with an HD conversion you would always get either 1080i60 or 720p60 out. It doesn't convert to

Re: PAL or NTSC?

Hi Simon, The output format will depend on the software, and in some instances the media you are playing. In After Effects you can change the format you're outputting by going to Preferences- Video Pr
