You can always use the Avid to upconvert the material. Start in an SD project, then change your project to HD and it will uprez your material. Is this better than a device doing it Against a basic AJA

I think there's a third choice to try, which is processing the video through VirtualDubMod. I had a whole sequence I had shot with an NTSC camera in a 50Hz country, so fluos were flickering all over.
