Hi there, guys. I've been testing this out to what seems to be no avail, but I wanted to check to see if this was a definite no-go. Here's what I wanna do. 1) Export an XML from FCP 7, with media and

That's incredibly helpful, Juan! Going into the office early right now to assign relevant reel numbers and retry my XML. Will post on here with the results. Thanks a ton! -- Carl Ryan Stemple Color Ed

I dont know much about LUT's, and to be honest I am not a real colorist in any way. From my experience with LUT's, they dont really work for me. I seem to get better results just adjusting luma gamma

It's not a LUT for CineForm exactly, but there's a great thread here where awesome Cow users have given links to download (and instructions to install) their LUTs for CineSTYLE. Again, it's not exactl
Media Composer Automation?
by Sean Smith 7 years ago
I'm new to Avid here, having been a pretty capable editor with FCP. I now find myself as a bottom-rung AE, which means a lot of repetitive tasks. Since I have a decent programming background, I was wo

I'm sure that you've already considered this, but have you tried toying around in the Automator application that comes standard with every Mac Assuming of course that you're shop is Apple-centric. I t

What I'd recommend is this: - Import your 7D material as DNxHD 36 (generally accepted as the standard for offline DNxHD workflows). - Edit your project with this material. - Once you've reached a pict

"if I undestood him, he imported an EDL to Premiere. Once in premiere, he then had the use of AE." That's pretty much what I was recommending, via an Auto Duck transfer from Avid. That way, you're abl

Has anyone had success running mc6 on a new iMac
Re: MC6 on iMac

I can't speak for 444 DNxHD on it personally, nor ProRes 444 for that matter, in all honesty - most of the projects I've offline edited lately have been ProRes 422 in FCP or the DNxHD equivalent (115)

Absolutely in agreement with Gustavo on this one. It's pretty easy to say "just shoot with film," but when you've got a client (or better yet, yourself) caught in a situation where they WANT a filmic,

That's a bit of an overly simplistic answer, and not entirely accurate. 422 and 444 as monitoring modes differ primarily in how you feed them, what your monitor device is, and what you're proposing as

You know, I've never had FCP crash on me a single time in all the years I've used it. Which is weird, because I work in tech support at a college that runs FCP -- at which it crashes for people on a d
