Be very careful on your tests. Your techs won't be able to tell the difference between 'no delay' and delay within 100 milliseconds or so. The brain just fixes A V sync below that - it's a feature! So
Timecode Distribution
by Paul Rozon 8 years ago
I need to have matching timecode on multiple cameras and iso decks. We have an audio mobile truck coming in (pro tools rig)who will be generating the LTC from Telcom Research T5010. This unit outputs

You can use an audio DA or a video DA. Timecode is most similar to an audio signal, and apart from it being best to avoid passing it through transformers (which try to reject DC, a central part of LTC

I have a large production in Arizona next week. I recently was tasked to take demos fed through an AppleTV (of iPad2 Mirror mode) and also the output of a GoogleTV. Both are HDMI out, actually using H

You're right to be concerned Ken. You definitely need to supply both the Google TV and AppleTV with EDIDs that don't have HDCP active. But before then - run out and buy what you can and do tests! They
Export For Multiple Screens?
by Danielle Warren 9 years ago
Hi there. I'm working with a new client cutting some promo spots. They also want me to cut something together that will play on 3 HD TVs (not sure of the exact specs, but typical HD plasmas) all next

As a side note, 3 butted 1920 x 1080 images makes a 5.333:1 screen, not a 3:1 screen. You might refer to the setup as a 3 by 1 screen, but it's probably important to bear the actual aspect ratio in mi
Live event mixing, general and audio questions ATEM Television Studio

I'm going to be doing my first live event multi camera mixing in October with a couple of EX3s and the new Blackmagic ATEM Television Studio. I wanted to see if anyone with experience can tell me if t

A V sync should be fine. There's almost no latency on the analog run to the cameras, and the audio path through the Atem should be fine. But what mixer will take audio from HD-SDI inputs It would be m
Barco Screen Pro 2 info

Aside from the Barco classes are there any other training materials available, especially online for the screen pro 2 systems. I'm able to to basic stuff on a single screen pro but recently got put on

The ScreenPro should probably be downstream of the router, so it can get any source and convert it to the resolution of the projector - that's the point. It sounds like you should have had a controlle
Stereo 3D projection for Corporate event
by Ken Geary 9 years ago
Hi all, I'm going to keep this question simple. Has anyone out there successfully produced a live Corporate event (audience around 800 or so) projecting 3d stereo video using polarized projector(s) si
Re: Stereo 3D projection for Corporate event

It's very do-able, Ken. A 3D capable projector for that screen size won't be very cost-effective though (to rent or setup). You may be better off with two projectors and linear polarizing filters. Tha
Stereo 3d using syncd PlayBackPro?
by Ken Geary 9 years ago
I'm tasked to look into possibly projecting a trade show theatre presentation in stereo 3D. I'm very impressed with PlayBackPro running on MacBook's and have used in several live events, including 3-s
Re: Stereo 3d using syncd PlayBackPro?

I would try Walter's approach for a few reasons. First is that doing 3D without exactly sync'ed outputs - as in genlocked, not just showing the same content, is a poor idea. Even if it did seem to wor
Multi-projector
by Sam Chan 10 years ago
I am thinking about using two projectors for a screen size of 17 X 36 at my church. The projectors are roughly 42 ft from the screen. I have to edge blend the two projected images to form one seamless
Re: Multi-projector

Do all your projectors really need to be that far off axis Horizontally as well as vertically That's a pretty crazy projection setup. Anyway, I would look at using a single HD source of 1920 x 1080 an
What's Important in a Multi-screen System

Great forum. Not sure how I missed it before... Anyway, I wanted to see if I can get some advice on what is important in a system. We have a multi-screen playback system coming out, (we've spoken to s

We stay native as much as we can - on the DDR, that's a wide range of codecs and bitrates. For the lower spec Turbine, we're going to do an automatic reconversion to the best format, probably a tweake
