I am a Kent State University psychology professor. For the past few years I have been researching, and creating, Artistic Virtual Environments (AVEs), which are virtual environments that are created for artistic purposes. In addition to research, I also am actively involved in creating media for many of the courses that I teach.
I go back to the old days of 16mm film and shooting with a Bolex camera. Although I never became very skilled at shooting and editing film, I was privileged to take a few classes learn a bit about the craft of filmmaking. With the advent of home computers inexpensive enough for video editing I began playing around with Premier, After Effects, and Photoshop. Eventually I honed my skill set by taking courses in computer imaging and the visual arts. I am a big fan of Adobe products and 3DS Max. I thoroughly enjoy “playing” with all of this “stuff” for work and “creative expression.”
