by Matt Mitchell 2 months ago
Hi, I'm trying to digitize a bunch of old, analog videos in three formats (8mm, Hi8, and VHS). Starting with 8mm and Hi8, I have an old digital Hi8 Sony camcorder that plays the 8mm and Hi8 source mat

The only thing I can think of is that the frame rate is set wrong on FCP X for the capture. 25fps instead of 30fps. Normally, it would just not be able to capture, but having DV output on an 8mm forma
I know this may get some heat ...

But Apple SSD prices are down in the new refreshes and across all the Mac lines. The 4TB upgrade option went from $2800 to $1400 in the top spec MBP. It's still a lot of money, but it's a lot less of

Apple dropping codec support...repercussions

So, Apple in it's infinite and ever-forward thinking wisdom, dropped support for many many legacy codecs. The excuse was that they weren't 64 bit compatible and they are moving to all 64-bit processin

volume adjustment + limiter vs. limiter only — any effective difference?

So I'm learning about the limiter, realizing it can automate some of what I was doing by hand, and this leads me to a question. Given some dialog audio that is too soft, is there any effective differe

I just bought the VocalRider plug-in. It's a remarkable deal right now at $29! It's first heavily discounted and then half off for a limited time. I can confirm it works well in FCP X. (Not all plug-i

I've done this before with the Neat Video plug-in. Another tip is to limit the sharpening with a mask. For example just on a person's face. For me this helps avoid the "artifacted" look that sharpenin

One of the first things I did was change the "B" shortcut key to "Blade" instead of "Blade Tool". That way it instantly cuts the clip where the pointer is. I find it unnecessary to have a "Blade Tool"
