You can import AVCHD with Log & Transfer in FCP as ProRes, then place into an AVC-Intra timeline and export to P2. You would need two products from us, AVC-Intra QT and MXF Export Suite that includes

Maybe consider that 1. Renaming in FCP costs you a lot of time + the conversion time. The names are saved in the FCP project file, you need FCP to recover the renamed files. 2. Setting custom P2 UserC

Clips names can't be set, it's the User Clip Name that can show up in FCP instead of the real file name. Don't change the clip names, this will corrupt your P2 file structure. --------------------- Pr

Ok, let me be some more specific. :-) When using P2 natively then never use the "Move" feature in the Media Manager as it will move the original P2 MXF files out of the original P2 folder structure. F

HDV is tape. XDCAM and XDCAM HD are MXF XDCAM EX on card is MP4, it can be re-wrapped to MXF. My AE CS4 on the Mac only imports XDCAM EX wrapped in MP4. I don't get any XDCAM MXF files imported, only

You need the Panasonic P2CMS application to get a dedicated P2 component installed. Watch out for the additional codecs it installs, if you have FCP then you should remove the DVCPRO HD codecs from Pa

Please note that there are also timecode tracks within the MXF files. Editing the XMLs might work for FCP but it cause issues with other solutions that read timecode directly from the MXF ... like our

FCP does not use MXF media. From now on it does and for the first time FCP is able to read native Avid MXF media. Better than this we use the IMX codec from FCP to interprete Avid IMX MXF media files
