Saving Media Only Used in Cut

Hi there I was wondering if it was possible to save the media only used in a final sequence i.e. rather than saving whole source clips, saving each individual cut clip.... This is for backup purposes.

A Final Cut Pro to Color round trip grading session would also accomplish this with the creation of brand new media (only what the cut contained).
