by Arjen Abbestee 2 months ago
I was working on a project on my trusted MacPro. Took the project home to do some tweaks there. When I open the same project on my old (2011) Macbook Pro I see different results when rendering. In thi

One of my clients loves to shoot in Hi-Speed on Phantom camera's. Up to now, I used software from Vision Research to convert the Cine files into DNG image sequences that can be imported into After Eff

Thanks for your reply. Kind of busy here so I missed your answer in the first place... I just installed Assimilate Scratch (free 30 day trial version) and imported the cine files there. Here the resul
Jerky RAM preview
by Arjen Abbestee 7 years ago
As of late something has changed in my RAM previews. It does not play smooth anymore, but is skipping frames, pausing and speed changing all the time. It looks like I'm trying to play an uncompressed
Re: Jerky RAM preview

Ram preview appears to be better with multiprocessing on, but even with 3GB per thread I get warnings about frames not being rendered due to not enough RAM when I do a 'real' render. And of course thi

Just updated from CS6 to CC on my Windows 7 Pro DeckLink Studio workstation and all seems fine, except in AE CC, I no longer have an option to send my audio thru my BM speakers, only my Windows speake

I prefer the old situation where I can have my music (and system sounds) through my build-in digital output and audio from AE through BM. Why Because SDI audio goes through my video broadcast monitor

I have two sets running AE (CS6). One is a MacPro with a Decklink SDI for monitoring, the other is an iMac with an Ultra Studio 3D (Thunderbolt). On neither set can I set AE to output in 25p. There is

Flex registration problem?
by Arjen Abbestee 10 years ago
Hi, Just received my new computer (12core MacPro). So I installed everything fresh. But now when I render a comp with Flex in one of the layers I get some frames with the demo-mode cross through them.

See my previous post. After re-installing from scratch everything started to behave. A pain in the ...., because I have to enter several serial numbers for every plugin. My original number, the update
Real time HD playback on SD monitor in AE CS5
by Arjen Abbestee 9 years ago
When RAM-previewing a HD-project on my SD broadcast monitor (SDI input) I cannot seem to get realtime playback. I'm on a 12-core Mac with 32G RAM and a Decklink HD-Extreme (about three years old). Whe

I was afraid you were going to say that... I'll be switching to an HD monitor soon, so I don't want to spend money for only a couple of weeks. I guess I'll just have to be patient. Thanks, Arjen
Enhancing the film burn effect
by Eric Chard 10 years ago
AE7.0P: The "Film Burn" effect is nice, but I'd like to add a white hot glow to just the edges of the 'burn' as they evolve and grow (or shrink). How would I get a nice glowing edge there I can't use

Create a solid and apply the same effect on that. Then use it's alpha to create the glow.

I'm about to get myself a new 12-core MacPro to replace my aging 4-core. I now use a (three year old) Decklink HD Extreme. Will this card also work in in the new MacPro line Tnx, Arjen

That must be the shortest answer possible. Apart from 'no' of course, but I would not have liked that very much :-) Thanks, Arjen
