FCP 10.4 crashing with XDCAM sd cards

If I open FCP x 10.4 while an XDCAM SD card is inserted in iMac, FCP crashes. Same if I insert the card when FCP already open. Same on 2 iMacs, both High Sierra, both 10.4. Copied card to external HD,

Thanks Joe, I did all the usual house keeping and made sure all systems and software was up to date. I have also cleared some headroom on my main system HD. I have now traced the issue down to a fault

Premiere has OMF export if you are on CC2014. Other option, round trip your audio to Audition and export the stems to send to your sound designer. Just put in some tone on the front end to have a cons
