Grouping Expression Controllers?

Hi, is it possible to group expression controllers into single 'effects' What I want to do is create an 'effect' which can be twirled up and down with several controllers in it so it is easy to tell w
Re: Grouping Expression Controllers?

You either have to create an actual effect, or you can create a pseudo effect by modifiying AE's PresetEffects.xml file to define your effects controls, apply that effect with a script, and then save

Andrew, how are you doing? Do you remember me? I am CHEWY... the one and only. I hope the force is still strong with you. I have a quick question and an even quicker comment. Now that I am getting more comfortable with AE, I have a question regarding the final exported product. Should you render at top quality before you add it to the render que or can you add your video (without it being ram previewed at top quality) and still export it?

P.S. Would you like to watch my video I made from last year? It is ''Magnificent'' by U2. I hope you are doing well. You are the master YODA of vid tutorials.

Hey Master Yoda.... I am really looking forward to posting my "Magnificent" video once it is completed for my first ever attempt using both Premiere Pro and After Effects. I have a question for you. If I make a HD video (most of my footage was shot in HD) for my next video, can I make a good quality SD video from the HD final video? It may sound like a stupid question, but going from HD to SD would be no problem, right? Thanks ... Chewy!
Andrew Devis 7 years ago

Hi Andrew,

First I like to say that your tutorials have been a great help in understanding Premiere Pro.I rarely
read manuals since it will put me to sleep but your tutorials are easy to follow along. Question, could you possibly explain the new Technicolor Cinestyle work flow within Premiere Pro 5? There are some tutorials online but it's more about installing Cinestyle Profile and a breif expalantion on LUT. I'm sure there are lots of users like myself who would like to see a demo on how to color correct within Premiere
Pro 5 using the new Cinestyle Profile for DSLR's. Here's a short explanation on LUT I found online
http://nofilmschool.com/2011/05/what-is-a-look-up-table-lut-anyway/
What's confusing to me is towards the end Jay Friesen in his article says that "it’s best to remove it
(LUT plugin) for final color grading and rely on your properly calibrated monitor." I will pass this email to
Richard Harrington as well. Hopefully one of you can explain it.

Hi Todd, hope all is going well at NAB and you're having a good time launching CS5.5.

Sorry to bother you with this but I've searched around on the forum to find an answer to this but can't seem to get anything that works and wondered if you could suggest anything?

I'm rendering out from AE and my RAM is running out and causing AE to crash. Basically, the problem get worse the bigger the outout file type. Smaller codecs cope with my 4G (Laptop) but bigger codecs use it all us and it crashes.

I've tried disabling rendering multiple frame and I've got to the 'secret' preference and disabled layer cashe and changed the frame number to 10.

But still, RAM use goes up and up and it crashes. I was also getting the 'needs more than 2 frames for RAM preview' and that seemed to go away when I disabled render-multiple frames in the preferences. But I can't see why RAM use is going up so fast and why it should fail.

PS - I have updated to 10.0.2

Any help would be greatly appreciated
