Why the urgency to jump to Avid/Adobe RIGHT NOW?
by Gareth Randall 8 years ago
I've read many comments from professionals using FCP7 who have basically said that in response to FCPX, they're going to jump to Adobe or Avid. I'm just a bit confused as to why they've announced this

Yeah I really have been bamboozled by all the people that are defending apple from scorned editors by saying: "Use FCPX, or just keep using FCP" As if the third option of moving to say, PP5.5 is just

I took a week off to actually get some editing done (in fcp) and it seems like the same fcpx champions are out in full swing... I've gotta say some of the defending that goes on here is just amazing.

Mixed frame rates / res in a project?

Just curious about a couple of things I have not found info on in the docs I can find online. How does the current Premiere Pro CS5.5 handle mixed frame rates in a project I.E. what happens if you nee

apple's response to David Pogue
by Jim Sprague 8 years ago
http: pogue.blogs.nytimes.com 2011 06 23 professional-video-editors-weigh-in-on-final-cut-pro-x as a well known Apple shill, Pogue was able to ask some "tough questions". turns out everybody is wrong!

with this whole fiasco, apple will be lucky if I even install lion. maybe just shrink wrap the 8core, as to protect the 8 years of projects - while editing on a new W7 workstation.. Does adobe support

Migration Strategy Thought

It occurred to me this might be a pretty smart thing to... 1. Pull a clean 1TB drive off the shelf... 2. Install Snow Leopard... 3. Install a clean version of everything in FCS 3 and update it through

Yeah Precomp the psunami, and use that as displacement for your vid layer. try different modes for the psunami over the video, I usually make a duplicate of displacements and time shift or scale them
