It is a big codec to decode. Try this. Run a short clip through Compressor and convert to your preferred flavor of ProRes. Import that into FCPX. How does the clip perform Or you can have FCPX convert

Kyle, for the price you can buy the XLR Line Input accessory for the GH5. And a bunch of neutral density filters. And the expensive but well designed Zakuto cage. And get 4K so you are future proofed.

I'd question whether the drives are as fast as today's drives. But theoretically, this shouldn't be an issue. I've been using a esata to USB 3.0 converter on my RAID 5 and it seems to be plenty fast.

hi Todd just finding out about this thread now. All the answers are correct, and the one that you came up with is one that I also use to import VHS tape's into my Mac . I never thought of using it as
