Have you checked to make sure the normals are correct in C4D You won't see any problem unless you go into polygon mode and select all. What format are you using for export

Agree with Brian, but if those aren't options, I find I get the best results by selecting and melting as many extraneous edges as possible.

Simple solution: go to the light's "Details" tab, enable near clipping, and set the desired start end distance.

The easiest way to do this in Cinema is to use the X-Particles plugin, but it's a bit pricey.

I believe you have to use bezier curves in C4D to get control handles.

Adam, I'm trying to get in touch with Brian Jones regarding a post from some years back:
https://forums.creativecow.net/archivethread/19/779465#779465

I'm struggling with trying to figure out an XPresso setup to spin car tires over distance so I can just "pull" the car object along a spline and have the tires rotate automatically.

Perhaps you might be able to help me?

Thanks.

Hey Adam, I am having so much trouble with this plugin. The render time is insane and it is not covering the parking lot, no matter how many particles or how long. The file example you shared does not open in R14, it says it has incorrect file structure. I am willing to pay you for all of the exact settings you used and any advice you might have on what to play with. I have been pulling my hair out.
Adam Trachtenberg 4 years ago
Are you sure you have the latest x-particles update I just tried here and my file opens fine in R14. As far as the snow density goes, the key is to use the filling option in the x-particles material. [more]
Jon Simpson 4 years ago
Hi Adam, thank you for your continued help.

My client is happy with the look of this but we will need to scale the particles down significantly. I was wondering if you would be interested in me paying you to add the snow after I finish the scene and the animations. If so, what would you charge? It would be much less expensive that way as I am not sure I would need the plugin very often in the future.
Adam Trachtenberg 4 years ago
Hi Jon, I'm game to do it, but to be honest it would probably be more expensive for me to do it as it could take a day or two of tweaking to get a satisfactory result. At my standard rate of $450 day [more]
