I am also having the same issue. Importest all the good takes (left out the bad ones) into FCP locked down the edit and exported it as a EDL. Add all (good and bad takes) into Cinema Tools. Opened up

I think he means a depth map exported, for example, from Maya and used in Motion to simulate depth of field. They can also be used in Photoshop, together with render passes.
