Eugene Lehnert "It seems Nvidia has their own Open GL type thing going on with Cuda " That won't help you with Smoke specifically because Smoke doesn't use cuda. It will help you in a few Adobe apps

Happened to me a lot of times. But mine sounded like a sheep. Something like,"meeeeeehhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!" It's true though. And that noise didn't happen again the moment I restored my secret menu setting

One suggestion in case anyone else follows in your footsteps would possibly be to re-encode the h.264 or the prores files to animation. You could relink the footage and keep limping along. Any amount

"Removing the gaps between them will tedious! " No - it needn't be. Just move the last clip up to V2, select the empty area in V2 to the left of the last clip, and hold down delete. It will error out
