What I like to do is this.. 1. Select clip(s) to eventually sent to AE as DL. 2. Hold down Option and drag up to Track 2 for both video and audio. Right click and deactivate them and turn audio off(or

Ok, well (im not a trekky BTW) check out the 2009 star trek movie, pretty much every shot has a lense flare in it. If you search the effects panel for flare you should get the stock AE plugin but also

Yeah looks like the hand and device are still images that have been keyed masked out, the finger is the same i think, just animated. If you want to get a more fluid look to it, try shooting video foot
