The short answer is that you will be fine 99% of the time with 8GB ram. You may want more if you use huge textures and tons and tons of high-poly objects in a single scene. You'll know you have a prob

Yes, definitely upgrade your RAM to whatever you can afford. After Effects LOVES RAM - the more the merrier! It WILL speed up your AE system because your computer will spend considerably less time cac
