The Codex doesn't kick in until it receives a signal while the Prores starts recording immediately. As far as I know, there's nothing you can do about it because the Prores clips will always be longer

It has built in test signals. There's many new features on this model because it's specifically designed for broadcast. Our engineering department uses a Klein probe I think. I could be wrong.

It uses BNC, but it's a 5 cable RGBHV connection which is basically VGA because it keeps the sync signals separate. The majority of RGBHV cables use BNC connections so that's probably why the monitor

It's only using your GT120. Color may freak out if you have two monitors attached to two different GPUs running at the same time. If you have two GPUs installed and are only using one for your monitor
