I've been picking up used T2is and installing Magic Lantern on them. They take a regular 1 8" jack. I've also seen XLR-to-1 8" converters if your mic needs XLR. I have 3 T2is now and they work great.

Sounds like a corrupt file - you may need a rescue app. I advise not doing anything further with the card until you can get it to your machine and find a rescue app of some kind. The only one I've use

I have a clause in most of my contracts where I can accept a facsimile as the actual version. I've never had any issues with it and I've done business with many, many people who have similar policies.
