[ more] David Lawrence is a designer, producer, researcher, and media artist with over 25 years of expertise in all aspects of digital and interactive media. His early work in the 1980s at Lucasfilm Ltd. includes groundbreaking research, design and production on innovative projects that bootstrapped the interactive multimedia industry and led to the creation of breakthrough tools such as non-linear digital video editing. Partners included the National Geographic Society, the National Audubon Society, and Apple. Later projects include award-winning radio documentary, laserdiscs, CD-ROMs, DVDs, and a nationally acclaimed, transmedia publishing venture. He is a founding member of Stretcher, a collective of San Francisco Bay Area artists and art critics who have published the online art magazine Stretcher since 2001.
