If the cable on the 44B is long enough to allow you to be at the proper distance than that's the way to go. Simple & uncomplicated. Just remember to unclip the mic after the interview before you move.

That might not even work, although is highly risky. The mic needs power which itll get from the camera. I doubt the voltage will survive a 10m cable and still be correct to drive the mic. You MAY just
