Problems with Kona 3 and ProresHQ-SOLVED!
by Sara Shier 7 years ago
Hi, I'm new here but I thought I'd throw some info out there. I was desperately searching through forums last night trying to figure out this problem and called AJA this morning and got the answer, so
More than 2 gigs RAM works for some
by Tunaking 7 years ago
I have used MacPros with both 4 Gigs and 8 gigs of RAM and the Kona 3 and I have not had issues with dropped frames in ProRes at all. Perhaps this issue was addressed with a firmware update lately Or
Magic Reboot
by Frederic Lumiere 7 years ago
Just thought I'd take a quick poll here amongst AJA users. How frequently do you reboot It seems that when all plausible explanations are expired and that the Kona card just isn't doing what it should

Days and days without reboot. Maybe once every three days And I'm not kidding.

After more testing, it seems that only the ProRes (non-HQ) is possible on the Quad G5. I did hit dropped frames on the HQ.

Not correct at all Sean.

Sean, BTW, I just remembered CT won't let you do a reverse telecine with DV footage. Not true. People use every day. It was designed to do this. It's been doing this since it was Film Logic. For some
FCP 5.1.1 and 5.1.2 crashes while exporting sequence as Quicktime
by Shawn Marshall 8 years ago
Greetings: FCP 5.1.1 and 5.1.2 crashes when I attempt to export some sequences in my project as a Quicktime. I opened up a 4.5 project in 5.1.1 to make some updates to our motion graphics demo reels.
Check for CYMK JPEGS in your sequence.
by Tunaking 8 years ago
I had a problem like this in previous versions of FCP (haven't tried with 5.1.2 yet). But CYMK images (I had JPEGs) would drive FCP crazy. I converted them to RGB and the crashes stopped. Long shot, b
Cinema Tools conforms but does not lengthen duration
by Justin Folk 8 years ago
I recently converted 29.97 footage to 23.97 in Cinema Tools 2.0. Every thing worked well except for the fact that the shot stayed the same duration instead of expanding, therefore losing the content a
Re: Cinema Tools conforms but does not lengthen duration
by Tunaking 8 years ago
You are incorrect. Many people use Cinema Tools to slow-mo shots from 29.97 to 23.98. Also in some cases, like PAL 24@25 workflows the conform function is essential. This would indeed be a problem if

Re: Final Cut Studio (Universal) & eBay

Only the FCP Studio Crossgrade ($49) doesn't come with serial numbers. All the DVD Studio Pro, FCP 4, Motion, etc upgrades do come with new serial numbers. Still morally questionable though, especiall

Re: Multiclip Media Management HUH???

There are improvements to the Media Manager in 5.1. It has worked good for us so far. It's worth the $49 to upgrade. 5.04 was still flakey.

Re: 702p24 -> 1080p24 convert
by Tunaking 9 years ago
While features are added regularly, so far you can't do a realtime upconvert from 720P to 1080P. You can however drip a 720P into a 1080P uncompressed sequence, scale to sequence, render and output. T

Re: Older Powerbook Titanium -- It does work.

Update... We finally got our hands on the HVX200. I downloaded the P2 driver for the Powerbook and loaded it onto an old Titanium Powerbook (which cannot run FCP 5). I slid in the P2 card and the Powe
Blackmagic 4:4:4 Question

Can someone try this?

In the new drivers, BMD says you can cross-convert from 720P to 1080i. Can someone try taking 720P 23.98 DVCPRO HD and cross converting to 1080P 23.98 Arguably, this should be somewhat easier in some
