Not sure what the Videoguys will tell you, but if you are doing video color grading, you don't want a cheap TN LCD panel that can't represent colors correctly. Try looking for some of the IPS panels.

As Chris pointed out Thunderbolt can handle the throughput. The Promise site states the R4 gets speeds up to 500MB s, which I'm guessing is in RAID-0. Although, I saw one site that put it through RAID

XP You could get XXClone (free) and clone the drive. I've successfully used XXClone on several XP systems. There is an option for making your cloned drive bootable as well. For XP I find this easiest.

Not sure why you'd be slowing down... but under the Sequence File Menu you can select to delete renders - this will delete your timeline preview renders. Then under Preferences, you can select Media -

When you do a 'Save As', does a new window pop up Then to the right of the name there is an arrow. If you click that you should be able to navigate to wherever you need to go to save the file. TC
