One expert claimed the Preview buffer need not be more than 128MB with 1GB of total RAM. Shouldn't the buffer be enough to hold the amount of video that can be pre-buffered And, isn't this defined by

The JVC announcement is likely political to keep an HDV partner -- who doesn't have these features -- happy. 24P was never published. PCM audio was never announced. However, ProHD EX may be a new form

If the MPEG-2 artifacts are in the source -- even working in uncompressed isn't going to help. BUt, you may be right that Avid and Apple with their native implementations may not be the way to go. Can
