I use the JuicedLink DS214 Preamp (7.2 ounces) mounted to the rig with an adjustable ball head adapter. Set the angle to keep an eye on levels and volume settings. The Riggy line looks a little bigger

First, think past RAID arrays. They are not often the best archive platforms for 100s of TBs and up. Look at LTO-5 Libraries as well. That is assuming by "archive" you mean something that you are not

No real cons - it's using compressor even if you haven't purchased it. It's a headless back end conversion. The disadvantage is your computer is working hard while you try and edit. Best, Jeff I. Gree
