As JP has said a gradient is essential to stop eye strain, my background is concave and I get a very nice gradual fall off towards the middle.

I would try two things. First thing is look in the globals tab and adjust the aspect pixel ration. But i never got that thing workin' who knows..... Second thing apply a move2d at the end and scale it
