Well my hard dive is certainly not full and my in and out points are set correctly. Still getting the error 34 message when trying to export, plus the resulting file has no video, only audio.

Ok, thanks for the advice guys. I'd rather go the Mac Pro because of the graphics card issue and because I can upgrade it if need be, and there are some other reasons too, not worth getting in to. But
