Yes but if i interpret my footage (35mm telecined) as upper fields, it kinda of blurs it. Also if i set my render setting to output upper fields it still introduces some blurring or flickery artifacts

Only DV PAL is lower field first, SD PAL is upper field first.

I think color is not so friendly with nvidia, so any ATI card will work just fine...also with color if your using a nvidia card, your limited to working with either 8 or floating point internal pixel

Try going to final cut pro preferences then editing tab, and limit the gamma to 1.8 as a custom setting, then re import your files again and compare, hope it works for you.
