A m2t file isn't necessarily HD, it can be SD. M2T is the type of transport stream used in Blu-Rays for instance.

Finally, I hate having to use DNxHD wrapped in quicktime, as Apple only released a 32-bit version for Windows. Hopefully this will speed things up a bit.

A couple of other people have had that same problem. Try uninstalling the Blackmagic software, reboot, re-install the software, reboot again, and plug in the device.

Be forewarned, if you connect the GoPro 2 directly to the BMD HDMI-to-SDI mini-converter, and you have it set to 1080 in the GoPro, the mini-converter will set it to 1080p, not 1080i. Not sure if the

The two big names are Red Giant and Boris, I use some from both.
File sizes very large with Media Express
by Jim Arco 6 months ago
I have started capturing some old SVHS tapes (std resolution 4:3 NTSC) using Intensity Shuttle and Media Express. The files are much larger than I would expect - typically 6Gb for a five minute clip.

Uncompressed SD is about 1GB per minute, HD is about 7GB per minute. (Assuming 8-bit 4:2:2).

I try to keep normal dialog between -12dB and -10dB, and any loud sounds (yelling, explosions, etc) at no more than -6dB. As we all know, you can always raise the audio, but once it's distorted, there

Why not send your HD sequence straight to Encore (via Dynamic Link) This will use AME to do the scaling.

Has the H.264 interlace export bug been fixed in CS6?

I know in CS5.5, if you export interlaced footage in H.264 (even select to keep it interlaced, proper field order), it drops half the fields upon export. To get around this, you need to export it as B

Yes, that system will be able to run two monitors. I made the jump from Mac to PC last year, haven't regretted it at all. Since CS6 on Windows can import ProRes, it isn't an issue for me in the least.
