Is the group these objects are in 2D or 3D In 2D they should "stack" in the order that the layers appear in the layer browser. In 3D they stack by the z-order of the objects' positions.

Don't do it in FCP, do it in Color. Colour correction in FCP stinks, use the still store in Color to match up footage and to save space and time, don't do it until you're 100% which shots you're going
