At a guess it sounds like P2 cards are FAT 32 file system which has a 4GB file size limit. Usually the format manufacture (Sony, Panasonic etc) has an import utility which reads the card and joins the

In Browser you can open the Offline Media window and copy them to the system. This allows you to log them and then later write the updated metadata back to the full res clips on the master disc.

I think Ben lays it out pretty well. I'd say go w the iMac unless you have specific needs that only the MacPro can provide (such as handling PCIe cards you may already own, need for greater than 16GB

Well... it says its opening the XML file but then reports the error "Mixed frame rate sequences are not supported". Which would be fine but my frame rates aren't mixed! Michael Sanders London Based DP

If you're in a shared storage or multi-user environ with critical work on the line, then backups obviously need to be managed very carefully. For the single seat user, just slap a drive on the system
