Just check to make sure that you are using the Panasonic RS-422 device control settings. Like any deck you should also calibrate it to make sure that you are getting accurate pulls & layoffs. I use a

I've upconverted before. It looks pretty decent. Not the best, but not terrible. You can't go from 23.98 to 23.98 though, you will be editing 720p60, not 720p24. Jeremy

I happen to be using a J30 today. When I turned it on, it was in 625 PAL mode. Had to change it to 525. Could that be the problem Otherwise, I have had no problems. It's a good little deck.

Again... yikes. I just wish that Panasonic would create a prosumer camera that would record DVCPRO100 to tape as opposed to those P2 drives. Then that would make this whole HDV issue moot.
